Pantalla táctil agrietada o sin respuesta
Resistivas (XL2, Delta) por golpes o uso intenso. Capacitivas (XL5, X-MET8000) por fallo del digitalizador. Stock de recambios OEM.
Batería degradada o hinchada
Li-ion pierden autonomía a los 2-3 años. Reemplazo con celdas equivalentes y reset del controlador de carga.
Tubo de rayos X agotado o fugas HV
Pérdida de emisión tras 5-8 años de uso. Sustitución de tubo Moxtek / Oxford (Ag, Rh, W 45-50 kV) y recalibración.
Detector SDD degradado
Pérdida de resolución, fallo del Peltier. Diagnóstico con fuentes patrón y sustitución de detector Amptek / Ketek / Vortex.
Ventana de berilio o Prolene perforada
Causa más común: contacto con muestras puntiagudas. Sustitución de ventana con sellado a estanqueidad verificada.
Gatillo (microswitch) gastado
Tras decenas de miles de disparos. Reemplazo con microswitches Omron D2F o Cherry equivalentes, ajuste de fuerza de actuación.
Electrónica HV / placa de control
Fallos por humedad o sobrecalentamiento. Reparación a nivel componente o sustitución de board completa según viabilidad.
Calibración derivada / lecturas erróneas
Recalibración con patrones certificados (NIST / MBH Analytical / Inspectorate) para Au, Ag, Pt, Pd, Rh y aleaciones.

Diagnóstico técnico inicial
Recibimos el equipo (envío MRW con seguro si lo solicitas) y emitimos diagnóstico documentado en 48-72 h con fotografías.
Presupuesto cerrado por escrito
Presupuesto detallado con coste de mano de obra, recambios y plazo. Sin sorpresas. Si rechazas, devolvemos el equipo (solo logística).
Reparación a nivel componente
Intervención con microscopía, microsoldadura BGA, sustitución de recambios OEM o genéricos compatibles según caso.
Recalibración + verificación
Calibración con patrones certificados y pruebas de repetibilidad sobre Au, Ag y aleaciones. Informe de aceptación.
Devolución con garantía
Garantía de 6 meses sobre la intervención realizada y los recambios instalados. Envío de vuelta asegurado.

Do you repair units out of manufacturer warranty?
Yes. Most cases we receive are out-of-warranty units where official service (Thermo, Bruker, Olympus) charges €5,000-10,000 for full assembly swaps. We repair at component level: X-ray tube, detector, window, screen, battery, HV electronics. Diagnostic in 48-72 h.
How much does a Thermo Niton XL2 repair cost?
Depends on the failure. Resistive touchscreen: €280-450. Battery: €180-260. Prolene window: €90-140 + sealing. X-ray tube replacement: €3,500-5,500 (Moxtek part + labor). Calibration with reference standards: €220. Initial diagnostic €100 deducted from final quote if accepted.
Which brands do you stock parts for?
Thermo Niton (XL2/XL3/XL5), Bruker S1 Titan, Olympus/Evident Vanta and Delta, Hitachi X-MET8000, SciAps X-200/505, Fischer XAN, Skyray Genius. For Spectro xSORT/iSORT we use compatible generic parts (manufacturer discontinued the handheld line).
Do you recalibrate for gold and silver analysis?
Yes. Recalibration with certified standards for gold 999/916/750/585, silver 925/800, platinum 950, palladium. We issue a calibration certificate with NIST traceability. Essential for trading, jewelry and forensic appraisal.
How long does a typical repair take?
Diagnostic: 48-72 h after receipt. Standard repair (screen, battery, window): 5-7 business days. Tube or detector swap: 10-15 days (part order + repair + calibration). Rush jobs on demand with surcharge.
Do you work with businesses and self-employed (VAT invoice)?
Yes. We invoice with Spanish VAT for businesses and self-employed. For EU intracommunity B2B under VIES we invoice without VAT. NDA on request for clients handling sensitive information (appraisals, legal cases, refineries).
